Teen Vogue Snagged A New Celebrity Staffer

http://a.sccdn.net/news-11/486x/126649_1305491617.jpg

If you're one of the hundreds of girls out there who tried to score an internship at Teen Vogue for the summer and was unsuccessful, we're sorry—a 90210 star filled one of the precious (and few) spots. Shenae Grimes is taking a cue from The Hills' Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port and is spending her summer interning and guest blogging for the teen glossy.

She's relocating to New York City and we're sure she's going to take the position very seriously—though we highly doubt she will participate in normal fashion magazine intern activities like sample trafficking, closet organizing and fetching coffee. It's become commonplace for celebrities to make a career switch over to fashion, but we had no idea that Shenae had aspirations of becoming an editor! As if getting your foot in the door at a fashion publication wasn't hard enough already...

Ashley Greene Talks Miley Cyrus, Joe Jonas

"She's young, but we could relate to each other because she's probably been through as much as a 40-year-old!" Greene tells the March issue of Teen Vogue. The two costar in the upcoming comedy LOL.

"Plenty of Disney kids are perfectly normal and love what they do. But you always hear about the people who aren't doing well," she tells the teen fashion bible. "It's kind of like the squeaky wheel."

Partnering up with Cyrus was an opportunity for Greene to slowly branch away from the Twilight franchise that's consumed her life since 2008.

"I'm kind of like a bad girl in that film," Greene, 23, says of her role in LOL. "It's a really big departure from Alice," she says of her vampire alter-ego. "And as much as I love that character, I'm excited for people to see a bit of my range."

Greene will also get to flex her acting muscle when she stars opposite Jennifer Garner and Olivia Wilde in the upcoming comedy Butter.

"It's about butter carving, which, really, you have to Google. People take these huge chunks of butter, as tall as me, and carve intricate things into them; it's mind-blowing," she says. "I'd never heard of it when I read the script, and I remember asking my manager, 'How do writers make this stuff up?' But it actually exists."

In the flick, Greene plays a "typical rebellious teenager who goes from plain vanilla to basically being a stripper. It sounds ridiculous but it's going to be really funny."

When she isn't working, Greene spends most of her free time with her 21-year-old boyfriend, Joe Jonas.

"We have a traveling relationship," she tells the mag. "We met through mutual friends in London, which is crazy because we both live in L.A. And we've already met each other's parents, which I think is a good result of the kind of lifestyle we live. He's sweet and really funny, which is huge for me."

Lauren Conrad: Teen Vogue November 2010

http://cdn.buzznet.com/media/jj1//2010/10/conrad-teenvogue/lauren-conrad-teen-vogue-november-2010-01.jpg

Lauren Conrad rocks a Nanette Lepore dress on the cover of Teen Vogue’s November 2010 issue, on newsstands Tuesday, October 19!

Here’s what the 24-year-old reality-star-turned-designer had to share:

On making a name for herself as a designer: “I’ve sacrificed and worked very hard to get where I am now. So whereas someone just getting out of fashion school may have to struggle for years to have the opportunity to start a clothing line, I’ve been working every single day since I was seventeen toward this. I’m also faced with different challenges. I go into meetings, and people have this preconceived notion of me that I didn’t work hard to get where I am.”

On Heidi Montag’s plastic surgery and Jason Wahler’s decision to join Celebrity Rehab: “They’ve moved on to a different life now. Being on a show like that is a lot more than people think. You’re thrust into the spotlight. There’s all this pressure to act a certain way. It’s hard to adjust. You have to decide early on whether or not you’re willing to do that.”

On her return to reality TV: “It’s going to be very different. I’m doing it on my own terms now. I get final editing approval. That was the only way I would agree to do it.”

FYI: Lauren finished her cover look with an In God We Trust necklace.

Lauren Conrad Wanted for French Hills Return

We doubt Lauren Conrad has plans to return to The Hills, even for the series finale. But maybe a former boss will convince the 24-year-old otherwise.

"The show gave her a great run," Teen Vogue editor Lisa Love told us last night at Diego Della Valle's MOCA fundraiser at Tod's in Beverly Hills. "She should definitely come back for the finale."

Hills creator Adam DiVello told EW.com that his dream is to have Miss Conrad walk down the aisle in the last episode, but Love has other things on her wish list for L.C.'s hoped for return...

"It'd be fun if Lauren and I caught up in Paris," Love suggested. "I think they could find a way to make it work with her coming back."

Unlike former Hillster Whitney Port, Love hasn't quite been following the antics of Audrina Patridge and Lo Bosworth since Conrad's farewell.

"It was over many years ago for me, and I haven't watched it since," Love said. "I never watched it even when I was on. You don't want to watch yourself on TV. I only follow what's going on with the cast when I'm at the airport."

The Hills Family Tree

Lauren Conrad is the center of this tree because everyone is connected to her. Sure she's not on the show anymore, but all these people have dated, worked with, been friends with, lived with, etc. She is the show's matriarch.

Lauren went to high school with and starred on "Laguna Beach" with Kristin Cavallari and Lo Bosworth, she also dated/starred on "Laguna Beach" with Jason Wahler, who made an appearance on "The Hills." Kristin, who joined the "Hills" in its fifth season, had previously dated Brody Jenner, who also dated Lauren. Brody most recently had eyes for former playmate Jayde Nicole.

Kristin also dated Justin Bobby who dated Audrina Patridge, which brings us to Heidi Montag because both ladies have lived with Lauren at one point or another. We all know you can't utter the word "Heidi" without then mentioning her hubby Spencer Pratt. He's related to Stephanie Pratt (his real sister) and Holly (his sister-in-law). And, he's had some issues with neighbor Enzo and Stacie the Bartender (who Kristin kissed last season in Vegas!).

Finally we're left with sweet-as-pie Whitney Port, who fits in because she worked with Lauren at Teen Vogue. She's now living and working in "The City" with Kelly Cutrone, who once also employed Lauren.

Olivia Gets A Style Shoutout From Teen Vogue!

When your everyday clothes are chic enough to make Heidi Klum blush, no one (not even Whitney Port!) can deny you've got a style IQ bordering on genius. So how does Olivia Palermo do it? Simple: she mixes tailored cheapies with seasonal splurges, accessorizes like a pro and makes sure her feet are always dressed to kill.

Yep, Liv's combination of aspirational/accessible has already earned her praise from even the toughest critics, and now the City star's earned herself a place on Teen Vogue's annual Best Dressed list (she came in at No. 9!). Read why Lauren Conrad's alma mater is going gaga for Palerms -- they claim she's "redefined party dressing" -- plus tell us how long you think it'll take the social-slash-stylista to crack the top five!
