Australian Fashion Week Revisited...Back to School

Not sure if this was her old school blazer or not (mmm maybe it looks a little too neat and well-fitted to be a school blazer! In my experience they are always a bit more "roomy" so parents don't have to keep buying new ones ;) but since it is Back to School for loads of UK students this week, I couldn't resist posting this photo.

Australian Fashion Week 2010 Revisited...The Stylestalker Girls

The girls behind Aussie label, Stylestalker, Sue-Ann San and Rachel Zeilic. Stylestalker is stocked in Selfridges (go girls!) in the UK but you can also buy online.

Rachel wearing the aptly named Wet t-shirt dress (it poured with rain just before I took these photos. You can see the little droplets of water on Sue-Ann's face!)

Australian Fashion Week 2010....Lucy

For me, photographing people is only part of the equation. Getting to know people afterwards is another part: strangers become friends. I love getting emails from people telling me about their successes (exams, graduations, new jobs, travel, babies!), plans for the future, and frustrations (always a chance for me to share my own ;).

And sometimes the news isn't always happy. I met Lucy while I was in Australia, and last week she emailed with some tragic family news. Lucy is about to set off for her new life in New York later this week and I just want to send out big, big hugs and wish her every happiness.

The gorgeous Miss Sara again.

p.s. Am madly packing for a little trip to Paris for a couple of days-I just checked the temps and it is going to be hot, hot, hot! See you all when I get back (with some new photographs I hope. I bet a lot of you will be sighing with relief to have a little break from the Aus photographs!)

Lindy Klim, Balinese princess and wife of Australian Olympic swimming champion Michael Klim, in a tiny leather dress and giant Prada bag. Lindy is the creator of baby skincare range, Milk Baby which has super cute products for babies and toddlers such as snotty grotty and stinky winky room sprays, and sleepy bubs massage oil. Two of my friends have just had bubs (one of them, twins!) and I suspect that a bottle (or perhaps a bucket load) of sleepy bubs would come in rather handy :)

Another one of my favourite girls from Australian Fashion Week- she had such a great, cool vibe (almost a little Gwyneth Paltrow?). I have some more photos of her from outside the Arnsdorf show (she was working for M&P PR agency) which I will show you next week.

p.s. For any Londoners out there, hasn't the weather been just fab the last couple of days?! We just got back from an early dinner at Barrafina tapas in Soho and when we walked out with our full tummies, the streets were just packed with people enjoying drinks in the early evening light. Gorgeous.

Adore the pale pistachio green top (I am still dreaming of the gelato in Florence!) and her necklace.

Apart from her rather cute Nana Mouskouri-esque Chanel glasses, I am loving the mix of colours, prints and proportions here (do you see her flash of toned tummy under her cropped top?). And her Gucci bamboo handle bag (from SS 2010) is pretty cute as well :)

Alice McCall (whose biography you can read here.... I didn't realise she was a stylist in London before she started her own label) just after her show, and just after the fantastic rain we had. Everyone who has lived or visited Australia will know the little ripple of excitement/nervousness/fear that accompanies the darkening of the sky, the distant flashes of lightening, the low grumble of thunder, the distinctive smell of rain just before a storm. It was so awesome to have the heat break (it was rather hot in Sydney at the beginning of the week- I had obviously come dressed for London autumn weather, not Sydney-autumn!) and to see the storm arrive over the glorious harbour.

I think Alice's label will be more readily available in Europe in the coming months....yay!
